Barry Devon BA, DBS, MA (Bris)

A professional Archaeologist, Barry was brought up and lives in Dublin. He originally graduated from UCD with a degree in Economics and subsequently a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Studies from the Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business, UCD.

After travelling for a time he worked in Sales and marketing in the IT industry for 5 years (concluding with a 2 year stint in Microsoft) before changing track and studying for a Masters Degree in Maritime Archaeology and History at Bristol University.

He spent the next 4 years working in contract archaeology gaining experience excavating remains ranging from the Neolithic, Bronze Age, Roman, Medieval and Early Modern periods. He returned to Ireland to set up Tour the Ages in 2007.
